Ever wonder how all of these beautiful wedding dresses end up in our Denver boutique?! One of the best parts of being a Blue Bridalista is the opportunity to attend New York Bridal Fashion Week, preview collections from our favorite designers, and select the best styles for our brides — all based on what you’ve been asking for! Twice a year, designers release their Spring and Fall collections at bridal market, and boutiques are invited and can preview and curate selections to bring home to their brides! Wedding dresses — whether mermaid, lace, or simple wedding dresses — are not your average fashion week item; they take time, dedication, and creative spirit to design! We can’t wait to show you what we find in the Big Apple!
YAS! Attending the designer’s runway shows is truly so much fun! Often they leave us (the buyers) gifts and informational packets about the collection to follow along during the show. Then LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! The models strut their stuff in stunning, new designs for us to see how it fits, flows, and moves! This moment is when the collection comes to life and we get to see the magic that these incredibly talented designers have been mixing up for the past six months! We love envisioning how you’ll look in that backless wedding dress floating down the runway.
So what’s on the horizon in bridal? We’ve seen sneak peeks here and there, but we are so excited to share more with you while we visit the best of the best this weekend! Anything from clean, structured silhouettes to A-line wedding dresses to all-over floral embellishments, fun prints, capes, and color — we’ll find it at NYBFW. There’s a mix of eclectic elegance in the air for Fall 2018 lines!
It’s not all business when we get to visit NYC, but it’s definitely our main focus to find the most unique, beautiful gowns. It’s our job to pay attention to what Colorado brides are asking for, how the trends are circulating, new venues that couples are booking, and what styles might suit our Blue Brides best! Most of our appointments at runway shows or designer showrooms are during the day when we are able to ask questions, touch and feel dresses, make any customizations to our orders, and lay out our options to narrow down our favorites. Running on coffee and sparkle is definitely a lifestyle, and never more necessary than when we’re at bridal market! Yes, we do get to attend fun welcome parties at fancy rooftop lounges (so swanky!), but it really boils down to our search for high-quality, beautiful wedding dresses that are still within our budget-friendly price point! Meeting designers is a great representation of the collection as a whole, and we love interacting with the masterminds themselves!
If this whole time you’ve just been asking this one frantic question, brace yourself. It’s a bit of a wait for these beauties to arrive and you to get your hands on them! Fall 2018 collections typically arrive between August and October. If you are having a 2019 wedding, give us a call to confirm how much time you have to wait to see any new collections. This will ensure we aren’t getting down to the wire for ordering! The designers take their time, and with any specific design requests, the dresses still take the same amount of time to be made as if they were being made for a bride’s order. Average lead time is four to six months!
Stay tuned to our Instagram for more sneak peek previews, and be sure to voice what you’d like to see come to Blue Bridal in the fall! When it comes to wedding dresses in Denver, our boutique has styles you’ll love and bridalistas who are ready to help make the magic happen. Explore some of the beautiful wedding dresses our brides have worn, and then be sure to schedule an appointment with us. We can’t wait to help you say yes to the dress (especially with some of the new ones we’ll pick order this weekend)!
