How to Prepare for Your Wedding Day

Filed in: Blog

You’ve booked the venue, purchased your dream dress, scheduled the caterer, and more! Now you’re just waiting for your special day to arrive. How exciting!

But did you know that there are things you can do in the day leading up to your wedding to be extra ready? Read on for our top recommendations for how to prepare for your special day.

  1. Try to get some sleep the night before!

This is one most brides and grooms struggle with. You may feel like you can’t sleepー butterflies in your tummy keeping you awake. However, while MUAs are more than skilled, we want to avoid dark circles and tiredness the day of your wedding. So sip some calming herbal tea, put on your most comfortable pajamas, and get to bed early the night beforehand so you are rested (as much as possible, anyway!) and ready to walk down the aisle.

  1. Select someone in advance to be in charge of steaming your gown.

The day of your wedding, you will want someone to steam your wedding dress thoroughly. Eliminate any decision fatigue by asking someone in advance to be in charge of this particular task. This way, as you are getting ready, you will reduce the chance of any stress, can sit back, and enjoy being pampered.

  1. Wear only a loose fitting robe, dress, or pajama set with buttons before you put on your dress.

Bra, panty, shoe, ring, and hair tie lines are one sure fire way to mess up your forever wedding photos. Do yourself a favor and refrain from putting on anything outside of loose, comfortable clothing and slippers that won’t leave any marks on your body, hands, arms, or feet. This is especially true if your gown has a low back, plunging neckline, illusion elements, and/or a slit in the skirt.

If you are eloping and hiking to your destination, you can help reduce the chance of these lines occurring by wearing thick, tall socks in your shoes and wearing no-show underwear (if necessary) till you put on your dress.
