HONEYMOON 101

Filed in: the dish

The honeymoon is the calm after the storm for many couples who are looking forward to some much needed adventure and relaxation after the big day! Booking and planning for a honeymoon however, can be quite the task if you don’t know where to start! Here are some basic things to keep in mind when planning for the ultimate getaway.

Research Research Research

One of the most important things to do when considering a honeymoon destination, is research! Doing thorough research on your dream destination can save you time, money, and a big hassle. Looking into things such as weather during your time of travel, big events that may be going on while you’re there that could limit hotel accommodations, and travel access to your must see spots are key to a smooth enjoyable experience.

Travel Agent

Another thing that couples can do to help ease the stress of planning the honeymoon is to hire a travel agent. When choosing a travel adviser, look for someone who will spend time getting to know you and your travel style so they can suggest not only locations you might enjoy, but also activities, dining, special tours and sightseeing. Also, a travel adviser is often able to get money saving amenities not offered to the general public, such as complimentary breakfast, spa treatments, room upgrades and more.

Consider All Inclusive

One final thing to consider when researching possible honeymoon destinations, is booking at an all inclusive resort! Although they can range high in price, resorts take care off all accommodations including stay, food, alcohol, and in some cases excursions, spa treatments, and more. This is great for couples who are looking for some serious rest and relaxation without having to keep track of all the little details during their stay!
