CHOOSING A DJ

Filed in: the dish

It’s all in the details, and one very important detail that can really make or break the wedding experience is the music! The process of finding a DJ however, can be really stressful without any guidance. We have come up with a list of  very important questions to ask before booking your DJ.

{ photography by Quetzal Photography}

  1. Is this your full time occupation?
  2. Are weddings your primary focus?
  3. In addition to weddings, what other events have you played?
  4. How do you customize the music experience for each couple?
  5. Can you help with song lists, or provide suggestions if the couple asks?
  6. How do you get the crowd pumped?
  7. How do you handle song requests?
  8. Will you play couples some examples of what it sounds like when you mix and blend different tracks?
  9. What sound equipment do you use? Do you have back up equipment in case of an emergency?
  10. Have you played at our wedding venue before? If not, would you be willing to do a site visit beforehand?
  11. What other services do you offer in the way of lighting and HD video screens?
  12. What makes you unique?
